Softball bunting is one of the most underutilized tools in the game. This is why I believe it is one of the most important tools that every single batter should be able to do. The sacrifice bunt is the easiest and should be the first bunt that players are able to put into play in a game. I have often seen high level softball players have difficulty with bunting because either they dislike the bunt or have been underutilized in bunting situations. All players should be good at bunting in any situation regardless of their hitting abilities. If they do not want to bunt then the team goals need to be reinforced.
